6:30pm Champagne Salon reception

While Louis-Michel Liger-Belair only created this domaine relatively recently in the year 2000, the Liger-Belair family has a 200 year history in Vosne-Romanée, having settled in the village when Louis Liger-Belair, a Napoleonic general, acquired the Château de Vosne in 1815. At one time, the Liger-Belair family owned an astonishing 60 hectares in some of Burgundy’s most legendary appellations. The Liger-Belair holdings today are impressive, and Louis-Michel has generously provided a variety of vintages of some of his best wines for this very special dinner at DANIEL. The dinner will commence with a tasting of one of the few Premiers Crus for white wine in the Côte de Nuits, Liger-Belair’s Clos des Grandes Vignes in Nuits Saint Georges, and continue with horizontals of the superb 2014 and 2010 vintages. We will finish with stunning verticals of Echezeaux and the domaine’s patrimonial Grand Cru monopole, La Romanée, from impossible-to-find magnums. Paired with the cuisine of Chef Daniel Boulud & guest Chef Léo Troisgros of his family’s world-renowned restaurant in Ouches, France, this will be a spectacular celebration of one Burgundian family’s history and future.

The Henriot family, of the namesake Champagne House founded in 1808 and today one of the few remaining family-owned Champagne houses, was the first family from Champagne to venture into Burgundy in the late 1990s, setting foot into some of the greatest terroirs in the region first with Bouchard Père & Fils established since 1731 and largest owner of Premiers and Grands Crus in the Côte d’Or, then followed by William Fèvre, the most preeminent owner of Grands Crus and an environmental pioneer in Chablis since 2000.
Join Gilles de Larouzière Henriot, along with longtime Cellar Masters Didier Séguier from Domaine William Fèvre & Frédéric Weber from Domaine Bouchard Père & Fils, at two-Michelin-starred The Modern, who have selected an impressive line-up, rarely presented outside of their own walls, showcasing the width and breadth of their remarkable holdings.
Didier Séguier will take you through the expression of three Chablis Premiers Crus terroirs in 2015, followed by a superb vertical of some of the greatest vintages of Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos of the past 20 years. Frédéric Weber will then present the House’s iconic Beaune Grèves Vignes de l’Enfant Jésus and a three-decade trio of Le Corton back to 1976, all from magnum. Undoubtedly one of the finest estates in the village of Volnay, Domaine Marquis d’Angerville farms an impressive array of the best terroirs in the appellation. Guillaume d’Angerville has generously opened his cellar to provide an astonishing assortment of jeroboams for this highly exclusive dinner - each being one of just a few bottled per vintage. Following a vertical of Volnay Champans, we will taste through a remarkable selection of vintages of the domaine’s crown jewel, the monopole of Clos des Ducs, the (appropriately) diamond-shaped parcel right outside the estate itself. The wines will be paired with a tasting menu created by Chef Daniel Boulud & Executive Chef Eddy Leroux.
