Established in 1564, Acqua Panna Natural Spring Water is crafted by nature as it flows through the sun-drenched hills of Tuscany, north of Florence, Italy. The name Acqua Panna originates from the respected Villa Panna, an estate owned by the Medici family during the age of the Renaissance, on which the Acqua Panna source was discovered. The estate is still run according to strict rules, using controlled, certified organic farming on over 3,000 acres which includes a nature reserve.

Water and wine pairing

Much in the same way that the quality of wines can vary, it's important to understand that not all waters are created equal. Synonymous with wine culture, S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna are recognized by international sommeliers, chefs and wine connoisseurs for their ability to enhance any dining moment. These natural waters offer the unique ability to complement and bring out all the nuances in the wines you are tasting.

With roots so entwined with fine dining, the Acqua Panna connection to, and importance in the culinary world is undeniable. Acqua Panna is perfected by its 14-year journey to the spring – it is filtered naturally as it flows, resulting in a special mineral balance for an unmistakable taste that’s worth savoring.

Pairing guidelines from a sommelier’s perspective

Young White Wines
The low mineral contents and soft velvety texture of Acqua Panna will accentuate these wines and allow for a pleasant and extended finish.

Full-Bodied White Wines
White wines that have undergone aging in barriques are more complex and have more structure, they are perfectly harmonized with Acqua Panna.

Young Red Wines
These have intense, fragrant aromas with scents of herbs and small red fruits; on the palate, they have an accentuated acidic, tannic note as well as a delicate gustative-olfactory persistence. Given these characteristics, they are very well matched with S.Pellegrino.

Medium Bodied Red Wines
With their evolving secondary aromas lingering below the surface, such wines offer a pleasant, balanced taste spectrum, and therefore harmonize perfectly with S.Pellegrino.
